Obituary

Funeral service for Donna Lou Bland, age 64, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home.

Donna was born on March 13, 1959, in Lincoln County, TN, to the late Donald Edward Flynt and Mary Lou Hayes Flynt. She worked as a registered nursed at Lincoln Medical Center and was a member of the Prosperit­­y Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Donna loved working on her farm and caring for her animals. She enjoyed gardening and was a loving Maw to everyone. Donna passed away on September 26, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, David Bland; children, Ritchie Sullivan (special friend, Jen Sicona), John (Janice) Bland, and Rysie Sullivan (fiancé, Bradley Massey); grandson, Jordan Massey; stepsons, Kevin Kent, and Brad (Jennifer) Sullivan; numerous step-grandchildren; sister, Debbie Flynt Norwood; and a brother, Eddie (Jackie) Flynt. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by an infant son, Jackie Sullivan; and brother, Ronnie Flynt.

    Donna and I were good friends in school spent lots of at each other’s houses over the year she married my husband now best friend and cousin that’s crazy she will be missed but not forgotten

    So Sorry to hear about Donna’s passing. In the 80’s, Donna, her mother, and I rode to Huntsville together. Donna and Mrs. Flynt were sweet and hard working women.
