Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Dolores Woods age 81, of Fayetteville will be conducted Saturday April 9, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. Willard Medley officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Woods passed away Monday April 4, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Woods was a native of Grant Park, IL and daughter of the late Howard and Marie Severin Smith. She loved spending time with her family, friends and co-workers. Her love never wavered with her age or declining health as she looked forward to going to work at the Piggly Wiggly in Park City. Mrs. Woods was a member of the Crete Missionary Baptist Church in Crete, IL.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years Jim Woods of Fayetteville; daughter Pamela Posey of Fayetteville; granddaughter Kimberly (Chris) McDonald of Newnan, GA; grandson J.R. Posey of Fayetteville; great-granddaughters Morgan and Reese McDonald of Newnan, GA; and brothers Wayne (Dell) Smith of Kankakee, IL, Bill (Kathy) Smith of London, KY, and Bobby (Beth) Smith of Crown Point, IN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Charles and Donald Smith; and a great-grandson Kobe McDonald.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday April 9, 2016 from 12 pm till time of service at 2 pm at Higgins Funeral Home. Mike Smith, Fred Smith, Dean Carlisle, Randy Carlisle, Logan Carlisle and Terry Pruett will serve as pallbearers.
