Funeral services for Mr. Bob Glendon “Dock” Slayton, age 75 of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Friday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Thomas Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Mr. Slayton died Wednesday afternoon at his residence. He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Howard and Trudell Holland Slayton. Mr. Slayton was foreman at the Rock Crusher, a farmer and a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Frances Lorene Daniel Slayton of Fayetteville, two daughters Diane Hall and husband Tommy of Fayetteville, Lisa Williams and husband Jack of Fayetteville, four grandchildren Nikki Flynt of Fayetteville, Michelle Hall of Columbia, Candice Mills of Murfreesboro, Cortney Mills of Fayetteville, one great grandchild Gabbey Flynt, three step-grandchildren Lori Jolley of Meridianville, Andrew Williams of Fayetteville and Megan Williams of Franklin, two step-great grandchildren Ashtyn and Maddox Jolley of Meridianville, two brothers Leo Slayton of Fayetteville, Dale Slayton of Petersburg, and one sister Pauline Rogers of Elkton, TN. Mr. Slayton was preceded in death by a brother Calvin Slayton, and two Sisters Barbara Harwell and Betty Forrester. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening 5-9PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
