Obituary

Funeral service for Derrick Ray Schmidt, age 52, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 2 PM on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Colwell officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM until 2 PM on Monday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Derrick was born on April 29, 1971, in Vietnam to Thi Sul Schmidt and the late Jerry Wayne Schmidt. He was of the Baptist Faith. Derrick passed away on April 12, 2024, in Cullman, AL.

Survivors include his mother, Thi Sul Schmidt; children, Nicole Repasky, Kaleb Hawkins, and Hollie Taylor; fiancé, Brandi Cothren and her children, Katelyn, Brooklynn and Hayven; and sister, Melissia Meeks, her husband Tim, and their children, Hunter, Hayden, and Hallie Meeks.

Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Derrick Ray Schmidt.

    Remembering my thing about derrick taco and he was always there when I need him no matter what time it was and he would always find a way to see me also I have known him probably over 30yrs and he would call me and would say I love you too sis and he will always be my little brother and Im going to really miss him but baba we will see each other some day and it’s ever good bye we would say later and I’m going to really miss you and I will always love you with all my heart because you’re my brother taco
