Funeral services for Mrs. Della Gant, age 88, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Graham and Bro. Ennis Hyman officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery beside her husband James Ingle Gant who passed away in 1983.  Mrs. Gant passed away Monday morning, October 5, 2009, at Crestwood Medical Center.

A daughter of the late Will and Omie Harris Meeks, she was a native of Grundy County, a homemaker, and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter Sandra Long and husband Bruce of Fayetteville, son Randy Gant and wife Lisa of Harvest, AL, step-son Bill Gant and wife Joyce of Huntsville, step-daughter Elizabeth Biggs and husband Charles of Decatur, AL, grandson Brian Long of Fayetteville, granddaughter Brittany Gant of Harvest, AL, step-grandsons Joshua Skurupey and Brandon Anderson both of Huntsville, step-granddaughter Jerae Sperr, 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her step-son Maurice Gant.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
