Growing up in the Vanntown community, I saw Dean and his family often. They were always was a delight to be around. They visited my uncle Taylor Mitchell and I made sure to be there. Dean talked me into holding his pet snake once and I trusted him when he said “you’ll love it” and I did. Mrs. Brenda is precious and I’m so sad that she lost the love of her life.

We loved Mr. Dean so much! He was a trading partner with my husband Roger and due to his loving requests that we visit Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, we are now members of the church. We always sat right behind him and Mrs Brenda every Sunday. He always found treasures for me at yard sales and called me “baby”. I’m certain Mr. Dean heard these words on Sat. “Well done thy good and faithful servant”
