Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Curtis E. Newton, age 84, of Taft will be conducted Tuesday at 11AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Derrick Moose officiating. Burial will follow in New Grove Cemetery. Mr. Newton passed away Sunday morning at Donalson Care Center.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late George Silvester and Lucy Dempsey Newton. Mr. Newton was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army and a former employee of Rambo Chevrolet. He was a life member and past commander of American Legion Towry Post #42.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn McCormick Newton of Taft, step-sons Joe McNeal and wife Barbara of Taft and David McNeal and wife Jan of Fayetteville, step-daughter Velma Wallace of Harvest, AL, eight step-grandchildren Joey McNeal, Gina Osborn, Jana Mobley, Paula Adams, Shelly Presnell, Javie McNeal, Chris Duckett and Marty Richards and several step-great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Monday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
