It is with regret we announce the passing of Mr. Clayton Thomas, age 98 of Fayetteville, TN. Graveside services were conducted at Booneville Cemetery.

Clayton was born on December 5, 1922 in Lincoln County, TN to the late William and Dora Warren Thomas. He was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Church of Christ. Raising hogs was Clayton’s passion and he spent his life in cattle and pig production. He was an honorary member of the U.T. Block & Bridle Club and was also named Hog Breeder of the Year by the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Clayton passed away August 26, 2021.

Survivors include his children, Etta Mae (John L.) Gill, Ronald (Pam) Thomas, Dale Thomas, and Shirley (Wallace) Sowell; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Thomas; grandson, Ken Gill; great-grandson, Caleb Gill; great-granddaughters, Britney Hope Lyell and Payton Elizabeth Thomas.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
