Obituary

Catherine White (Kate) Young passed away after an illness from Cancer. Predeceased by Parents, James Beverly (Bev) Young, Sr. and mother, Sarah McClellan Buchanan Young and her brother, Edward Biggers Young, III, all of Fayetteville. She is survived by brothers, James Beverly (Bev) Young, Jr. (Helen Jackson) of Carlisle, Massachusetts and Robert Buchanan Young (Mary Morgan) of Nashville, Tennessee. She is survived by two nieces, Juliet Young of New York City and Sarah Young of Warwick, Rhode Island and a nephew, Mark Buchanan Young of Nashville, Tennessee. She began her career as a civilian contractor for a while at Redstone Arsenal at Huntsville, Alabama, later moving the Cape Canaveral and then on to El Paso, Texas. She was employed for a while for the military at White Sands, New Mexico and worked out her career on several military bases in Virginia.  She rose to the highest civilian secret clearance available to contract civilians by the Department of Defense and worked on many confidential contracts as a project manager. Upon retirement she returned to Fayetteville where she continued to live in the family home on Mulberry Avenue. She stayed active in her church and several clubs. Upon death she donated her remains to Vanderbilt Hospital. Her cremated remains are to be interred in the family plot in Rose Hill Cemetery.
