Funeral service for Mrs. Carrie Buchanan Higgins, age 42 of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted at 11 AM on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Jon Hathcock officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM, Friday, March 5, 2021 at Higgins Funeral Home.

Carrie was born on April 23, 1978 in Lincoln County, TN to the late, Robert Dale and Lucy Diane Flynt Buchanan. Mrs. Higgins was a 1996 graduate of Lincoln County High School, she earned her Associates degree from Motlow State Community College, and her Bachelor’s Degree from Athens State University. She was a Team Leader for the Department of Children’s Services in Franklin and Grundy counties where she was able to pursue her passion of being an advocate and voice for children. Carrie was a member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church. She enjoyed relaxing by the pool, shopping, and traveling, especially to the beach where she could bask in the sun. She passed away on March 2, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Higgins is survived by her beloved husband, Vince Higgins; brother Chris (Laura) Buchanan; niece, Maggie Buchanan; nephew, Clay Buchanan; grandfather, Ed Flynt; loving mother-in-law, Cindy Harwell; bonus daughter, Ally Higgins; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her faithful companions, Marley and Cori. In addition to her parents, Carrie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Evelyn Flynt and James D. and Dorien Buchanan.
