Graveside services for Carolyn Sue Hasting Watson, age 82, of Fayetteville, TN will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Wright’s Cemetery with Bro. Tom Russell officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 12 pm until 2 pm on Monday at Higgins Funeral Home.
Sue, born on November 2, 1942, in Lawrence County, TN, to the late William Howard Hasting and Mary Louisa Tipper Hasting, passed away on February 7, 2025, at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville, AL. She dedicated many years as the secretary at Boonshill High School before retiring from the Bank of Frankewing, where she served as a customer service representative. A lifelong learner, she had a passion for reading and cultivated numerous self-taught skills. Always active, she loved the outdoors, cherished traveling, and found special joy in the ocean. Sue was known for her generosity and deep love for her family, always giving of herself to those she held dear. She will be remembered for her kindness, adventurous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones.
Survivors include her son, John Watson and wife Judy of McBurg; daughter, Terri Lynne Cross and husband Kyle of Lacey Springs, AL; grandchildren, Jesse (Brooke) Cagle, Jason Askins, Gage (Katelynn) Cross, and Kevin Guthrie; great-grandchildren, Dawson Brooke Cagle, Aiden and Addison Cross; sister, Eulonde Estes of Lewisburg; and brother, Billy Hasting of Cornersville. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Alden Watson; daughter, Kimberly Watson Cagle; and grandson, Chase Cross.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
