Memorial service for Carl Richard Tucker, age 67, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Shaneyfelt officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until 2 PM on Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home.
Richard was born on August 24, 1956, in Lincoln County, TN, to Brice Smith Tucker, and the late James Marolyn Tucker. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Officer Tucker served on the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and the City of Fayetteville Police Department in many roles, including the Narcotics Team, K9 Deputy, Detective, Lincoln County Courthouse Guard, and retired as a Patrolman in 2018 from the City of Fayetteville. Mr. Tucker also worked as a heavy equipment operator with RL Kent and EW Lewter contractors. Richard, known as “Papa” loved spending time with his grandchildren fishing, going to Tims Ford Lake, and boating. Mr. Tucker passed away on October 2, 2023, at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville, surrounded by his loving family.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 45 years, Debbie Corder Tucker; daughters, Teresa (Matt) Darden, and Jaime (Allison) Tucker; grandchildren, Tucker (Courtney) Darden, Maddy (Brandon) Dial, Emma Darden (fiancé, Nynin Dietrick), Logan Keeton (fiancé, Erica Parrish), and Lorren Thomason; brothers, Kerry (Tracy) Tucker, and Steve (Carol) Tucker; nephews, Jordan Tucker, Dylan Tucker, and Jesse Tucker; mother-in-law, Betty Hunter; and numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to his father, Richard was preceded in death by his niece, Ashleigh Tucker; and father-in-law, Charles Thomas Corder.

Debbie so sorry to hear about your loss of Richard. I know he had a hard battle with his sickness. I would ask about you all when I would eat with your mothr at Senior Citizens. I know you were very good to him. I will not be able to attend the service as I do not get out any more. You will be in my Prayers. Joyce.
So sorry to hear that Richard has passed. i know that he had serious health challenges the past couple of years. We grew up together–the Tucker boys and the Gibson girls. Praying for comfort for Miss Brice, Debbie, Kerry, Steve and his dear children and grandchildren.
I am so sorry to see this. Richard was a sweet guy in high school and I have fond memories of him. My deepest sympathies to Debbie and his family.

Loved this family! Richard and his family went to church with us at the Cumberland Presbyterian church- our parents were good friends- we spent many afternoons on Sunday going to their farm snd riding ponies bareback snd going off that big hill on our bicycles and swinging on grapevines and making homemade ice cream- praying for God’s comfort for Debbie and mrs Brice and family

I’m so sorry to hear about Richard. He has been friends with my boys for many years. Brice his mom came to our beauty salon many years she has been a dear friend many years. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God bless!
