Obituary

Graveside funeral service for Brenda Sue Massey, age 77, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Wright’s Cemetery with Bro. Chad Hancock officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.

Brenda was born on April 27, 1947, in Lincoln County, TN, to the late Roy Lemmons and Lillian Corbin Lemmons. She cherished her family above all and loved spending time with them, whether on the beach or rocking on her porch. Brenda had a passion for baking and cooking, and she especially enjoyed decorating for Christmas. A devoted Titans fan, she was affectionately known as “Little Granny” by her grandchildren. Brenda was of the Baptist faith. She passed away on May 22, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL.

Survivors include her daughter, Angela Hummel and her husband Jeff; grandchildren, Haley Hummel, Will Hummel, Chelsea Franklin, and Kayla Franklin; siblings, Louise Cothren, Johnny Lemmons, Teresa Anderson, Bonnie Manley, and Glen Lemmons; and her beloved dog, Marley. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Massey; sons, Randy Franklin, and Roger Franklin; and sisters, Paula Thompson and Fran Delap.
