It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Brenda Maye Renfrow, age 66, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, and formerly of Meridian, Mississippi. Born in Meridian on February 23, 1960, Brenda passed away on September 4, 2026, in Fayetteville.

The daughter of the late John Bentley and Oleta Poisso, Brenda dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a traveling dialysis nurse and served in the US Navy. A woman of Christian faith, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life: shopping for antiques, sewing, doting on her beloved dogs, and cherishing moments shared with family and friends. Above all else, her greatest pride and joy was being a devoted Granny to Cadence.

Survivors include her children, William “Billy” (Kelly) Dowling of Huntsville, AL, Kayla (Byorn) Petersen of San Antonio, TX, and Ashley Dowling of Camden, TN; granddaughter, Cadence Dowling; and a sister, Glenda Kaye Dearman. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, John Poisso, Jr.; and a sister, Linda Faye Poisso.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM EST on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
