Obituary

Brenda Gayle Potts, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away June 1, 2026, at HH Lincoln Health at the age of 73. She was born on February 1, 1953, in Fayetteville, TN to the late James Louis and Alice Marie Whitworth Caldwell.

Brenda had a lively and caring spirit. She met the love of her life, Robin Potts, when she asked him for a dance on a dare, and they never looked back. Brenda worked several jobs while raising her family and moving with her husband’s military career. She could do most anything and enjoyed the variety of people and work. After they moved back home to Lincoln County, she and Robin worked for many years at Builders Square in Huntsville. When she was able, Brenda enjoyed working in her garden and she cherished being “Purple Grandma.”

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Robin Lance Potts; son, Christopher Lee Potts (Shelly); grandchildren, Donovan Reed Potts, Matthew Logan Potts, Ashton Lee Potts, Alyssa Gayle Foster; great-granddaughter, Raylynn Potts; and her niece, Rose Marie Bain. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her sisters, Rose Marie Caldwell and Deborah Lynn Caldwell; and her brother, James Steven Caldwell.

A service to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Flintville Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday at Higgins.

Higgins Funeral Home is privileged to offer comfort, care, and support to the family of Brenda Gayle Potts.
