Obituary

Bobby Hamilton Carter, age 78 of Lincoln County, TN, passed away on April 26, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. Born on January 20, 1948, he was the son of the late Hamilton “Hap” Carter and Irene Templeton Carter. A 1966 graduate of Central High School, Bobby was known by friends and family as a passionate car enthusiast and a dedicated animal lover. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a period of service marked by his incredible resilience after being wounded in action.

Bobby is survived by his devoted wife, Sheila Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Beth Carter Winford and Jean Carter Stuhlbarg, and his brother, Jerry Carter.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Higgins Funeral Home, with Military Honors at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of Lincoln County (P.O. Box 37, Fayetteville, TN 37334).
