Funeral services for Mrs. Birdie Mae Tucker Moore, age 86, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. James Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Cemetery beside her husband James Elbert Moore. Mrs. Moore passed away Wednesday evening at St. Thomas Hospital.
A daughter of the late William Byrd and Cora Estell Cowan Tucker, she was a native of Lincoln County, formerly employed with Serbin Manufacturing for 23 years, Ray Marr’s for 16 years, and retired from Lincoln County Jail where she was a supervisor to the cooks, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughter Dinah Norman of Fayetteville, son Danny Moore and wife Gayla of Nashville, grandchildren Justin Norman and fiancé Claudia Brown of Fayetteville and Michael Moore of Nashville, sisters Mable Morgan of Smyrna and Evelyn David of IL, brothers Wayne Tucker and wife Loretta of Farmington, MO and Wendell Tucker of Waverly, sister-in-law Jean Tucker of Huntsville AL, several nieces and nephews, and special friend Martha Stewart of Fayetteville. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
Visitation with the family will be from 4-8 PM Friday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Moore’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.
