Graveside funeral service for Mr. Billy W. “Bill” May, age 83, of Taft, TN, will be conducted at 3 PM on Sunday December 16, 2018 at Blanche Cemetery with Pastor Debbie Eubanks officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. May.
Mr. May was born on January 21, 1935 in Limestone County, AL to the late Victor and Lillie Brown May. He was the grandson of a proud German immigrant, Edward May. He came through Ellis Island and lived in New York for a while before rearing 5 sons in the Germantown Community of Limestone County, AL. Bill attended Ardmore Methodist Church. Mr. May passed away on December 14, 2018 at Ardmore Health and Rehab.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Victory May; daughter, Belinda (Barry) Bullard of Decatur, AL; son, Steve (Noreen) May of Decatur, AL; sister, Sandra (Rick) Moore Bartlett of Athens, AL; brother, Kenneth May of Toney, AL; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special niece, Leslie Smoot. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold D. May, and nephew, Brett Moore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ardmore Methodist Church at 26557 Main St, Ardmore, TN 38449 or the American Heart Association at PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
