Obituary

Funeral services for Billy Mack Mitchell, age 53, of Delrose will be conducted Wednesday at 10AM at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bee Springs Cemetery. Mr. Mitchell passed away Sunday in Huntsville Hospital.

He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late James M. Mitchell Jr and Martha Ruth Burns Mitchell who survives. He was a former employee of Heil Quaker and was in construction.

Survivors in addition to his mother include two daughters Amanda Cartwright and husband Jerry of Frankewing, Carrie Riddle and husband Jeffrey of Ardmore, TN, five grandchildren Austin Mitchell, Jesse Cartwright, Cheyenne Cartwright, Caitlin and J.J. Riddle, special friends Karen Webb and Jordan Hargrove, sisters Ann Moon of Vinemont, AL, Sandra F. Welch of Toney, AL and brother Bobby Gene Mitchell of Delrose. He was preceded in death by brothers Larry Mitchell and Steven Mitchell.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

    I’m sorry for your lost. I remember when the storms came through McBurg this year and Billy was there at my house helping to the end. We swapped out garden food with each other over the last couple of years. I know you’ll all miss him. Sorry again for your lost.
