Obituary

Funeral services for Billy Gyn Letson, age 79 of Fayetteville formerly of Decatur. Al, will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel at New Bethel Cemetery in Courtland, AL with Rev. Bud Ham officiating. Burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery. Mr. Letson passed away Monday evening at his residence.

A native of Courtland, AL, he was the son of the late Gurley and Ivey Grissom Letson. Mr. Letson was a retired truck driver and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Betty Benson Letson of Fayetteville, children Billy Dewayne Letson of Huntsville, AL, Donald Gene Letson of Fayetteville, Ellis O’Neal Letson of Fayetteville, Judy Faye Travis of Hazel Green, AL, Randy Letson of Decatur, AL, and Shelby Dean Letson of Hillsboro, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, four brothers Stanley Letson of Hazel Green, AL, Charles Letson of Meridianville, AL, Jimmy Letson of Huntsville, AL and Gene Dale Letson of New Market, AL. He was preceded in death by children Elizabeth Pearl Letson Stafford and James Edward Letson and two brothers Melvin and Ovdie Letson.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. at
New Bethel Church.
