Billy (Bill) Joe Duncan of Fayetteville, Tennessee passed away July 26, 2015 at Donalson Care Center. He was born June 23, 1930 and was a native of Centerville, Hickman County, Tennessee. Bill attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in engineering in 1953. He later earned a Master of Science at the University of Tennessee Space Institute in Tullahoma. Mr. Duncan served in the United State Air Force prior to working for NASA as an engineer for over 30 years and was an active member of the Washington Street Church of Christ.
Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents, Blake and Pearl Brown Duncan, sister Mary Duncan Wilkerson of Centerville, TN and nephew Jim Wilkerson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Myrtle Haskins Duncan; son Joe Duncan and wife Jane Fred of Corryton, TN; son Keith Duncan of Fayetteville, TN; nephew John Wilkerson and wife Pam of Knoxville, TN; niece Linda Thomason and husband Tom of Franklin, TN; and nephew Bob Wilkerson and wife Rhonda of Nunnelly, TN.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday July 28, 2015 at 1 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Black officiating. Burial will follow in Stewarts Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be Monday July 27, 2015 from 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Washington Street Church of Christ or Stewarts Cemetery.
