Betty Lou Maddox Dunivan, age 75, of Fayetteville, TN passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She was truly one of a kind. Betty Lou was born in Lincoln County in November of 1947, and thus began her journey on this earth to make her mark on everyone she met. She always had a story to tell, and usually a joke or two. One thing is for certain, if your paths crossed, Betty Lou left you with a smile. She was the best daughter, mother, nana and friend, and she will be sadly missed by so, so many.

Betty Lou is survived by her son, Jeremy Pirtle; her daughter, Aimee Pirtle (William) McCurdy; grandchildren, Jordan Grogan, Maddox Kennedy, Dalton Pirtle, and Annie Pirtle. She also leaves behind her great-grand dog, Lila, who will sadly miss all the snacks and her great ear scratches. Betty Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “Pete” Maddox and Ora Maddox, and her loving husband Ronald Dunivan.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 12pm until 2pm on Sunday at Higgins.
