Betty Lou Maddox Dunivan

Betty Lou Maddox Dunivan, age 75, of Fayetteville, TN passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She was truly one of a kind. Betty Lou was born in Lincoln County in November of 1947, and thus began her journey on this earth to make her mark on everyone she met. She always had a story to tell, and usually a joke or two. Betty Lou is survived by her son, Jeremy Pirtle; her daughter, Aimee Pirtle (William) McCurdy; grandchildren, Jordan Grogan, Maddox Kennedy, Dalton Pirtle, and Annie Pirtle. She also leaves behind her great-grand dog, Lila, who will sadly miss all the snacks and her great ear scratches. Betty Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Robert β€œPete” Maddox and Ora Maddox, and her loving husband Ronald Dunivan.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 12pm until 2pm on Sunday at Higgins.

My deepest sympathy to family. My prayers are for comfort and consolation during your time of grief. I do not make it back to TN very often, I recall a few years back being in one of the shopping centers there and I see her waving and headed toward me to say hi. I didn’t think she would even remember me. She and I were political sparrers on Facebook and constant joke traders. She will be missed.

Words cannot express my sorrow to learn of Betty Lou’s death. She was one of the “coolest” ladies to ever live in this town. When you saw Betty Lou coming, you knew you were fixing to have fun because her wit wasn’t scarce and she was always ready for some fun conversation and laughter. I’ll miss the hugs and fun times. She loved her kids and grandkids more than anything and my thoughts and prayers are with them right now and in the times to come as well. Be strong and hold on to all the wonderful memories… Betty Lou would not have it any other way. Fly High, Betty Lou. I love you.
