Funeral services for Betty Jocelyn McGaughey Cousins, age 90 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Monday at 11 AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Don Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens beside her husband Arch Gerald Cousins who passed away in 2007. Mrs. Cousins passed away Friday morning in Lincoln Medical Center.
A native of Newton, KS, she was the daughter of the late Leander Gilson and Mable Melissa Vogt McGaughey. Mrs. Cousins worked in various school systems in KS and CO and was a member of the Park City Baptist Church. She was a member of the Elk Valley Crafters, the Huntsville China Painters Guild and a member of the D.A.R. Kings Mountain Messenger.
Survivors include a son Dana Cousins of Brownsboro, AL, daughter Linda Johnson and husband William of Taft, three grandchildren Amanda Osborn and husband Michael, Jennifer Poole, Heather Palonis and husband David and five great-grandchildren Caleb, Gabriella, Hunter, Jackson and Jazmyn.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday 4-7 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
A warm and gentle and kind person. The Crafters Guild will be lost without this lady.
