Funeral service for Betty Jo O’Barr, age 87, of Fayetteville, TN, formerly of Jefferson County, AL will be held at 1pm on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Ennis Hyman and Rev. Philip Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 11am to 1pm on Saturday at Higgins.

Betty was born June 25, 1935, in Birmingham, AL to the late William Chester and Ruth James Foster. She enjoyed traveling, taking care of her grandchildren, and she particularly loved to cook. Betty was a member of Taylors Baptist Church in Moody, AL. She was a very caring and giving person and always had kind words for everyone. Betty loved to pray, especially with loved ones, and there was no doubt she loved the Lord. Her faith like her will was very strong indeed. Betty passed away on December 14, 2022, at Lynchburg Nursing Center in Lynchburg, TN.

Survivors include her children, Becky (Eddie) Hall, Charles O’Barr, Roger O’Barr, Loretta Rasco, and Pam (Allan) Kelly; thirteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James Houston O’Barr; and sons, James Lloyd O’Barr and Bobby Alan O’Barr.

The family would like to thank the many staff at Lynchburg Nursing Center for the love, compassion, and kindness shown to mother during her illness. Additionally, the support and prayers from our family at Fayetteville ARP Church.
