Obituary

It is with regret we announce the passing of Bettina Elaine Gray, age 67, of Fayetteville, TN. Bettina was born May 17, 1956, to the late Roy Gray and Martha Elaine McCullum Wright. She passed away July 31, 2023, at her home in Fayetteville.

Bettina was a graduate of McGavok High School in Nashville, TN and a member of Browns Temple AME Church. She enjoyed puzzles and was an excellent seamstress, even sewing her granddaughter’s prom dress. Known as Nanny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she passed down a love of WWE through the generations. From Tamika to Regina and Jevon, to Ja’Kaiylan. Her favorite wrestlers were Junkyard Dog, Eddie Guerro, and Roman Reigns, in that order. Cooking was Bettina’s love language, and she loved caring for others as well as being the neighborhood “Cool Pops” momma. Her love and care will be missed by all who know her.

Survivors include her daughter, Tamika Glover and her husband John of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Regina Shelton and Jevon Conway; great-grandchildren, Ja-Kaiylan Guinn, Ziya Shelton, and Ryland Walker; siblings, James (Kathy) Gray and Perry (Angie) Steele. In addition to her parents, Bettina was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Steele.

There are no services planned at this time. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Bettina Elaine Gray.
