Obituary

Funeral service for Mr. Benito “Ben” V. Leal, age 94, of Fayetteville, will be conducted Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jack V. Carney officiating. Burial will follow in Old Orchard Cemetery with Military Honors. Mr. Leal passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Donalson Skill Care Center.

Mr. Leal was a native of Beeville, TX, the son of the late Arnolfo and Macina V. Leal. He was retired from the U.S. Army after 32 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Survivors include special friend Joyce M. Smith and her son Zane (Belinda) Smith, grandson Clayton Smith, sister-in-law Foncene (Fred) Venn. Along with his parents, Mr. Leal was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Holloway Leal, sister-in-law Jean Hemphill and brother-in-law Milton Holloway.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, January 8, 2016 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
