Funeral service for Barbara Louise Sanford Hastings, age 81 of Petersburg, will be conducted Sunday at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with John King and Bro. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Old Orchard Cemetery beside her husband George Edward Hastings, Sr. Mrs. Hastings passed away Thursday night at her residence.

A native of Davidson County and resident of Lincoln County since 1968, Mrs. Hastings was the daughter of the late Luther Allen and Lula Dennis Sanford. She was a homemaker, farmer, beautician and a member of the Petersburg Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Geraldene Pentecost (Billy) of Ashland City, TN, Debra King (John) of Murfreesboro, TN and one son George “Eddie” Hastings, Jr. of Fayetteville, grandchildren, Kevin Pentecost, Craig Pentecost, Josh Pentecost, Adrienne Cummins, Alicia Hastings, Kenneth King, Rachel Cook, Amanda Campos, Nina Duckett, Clint Duckett and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons, Tim, James and Richard, brothers Allen Sanford and wife Haroldine who survives and Johnny Sanford.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday night 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
