Obituary

Funeral services for Aubrey E. Steger, age 74 of Vanntown, will be conducted Saturday December 19, 2015 at 1PM at the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Milton Martin and Bro. Willard Medley officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Steger passed away Tuesday night December 15, 2015 at his residence.
A native of Lincoln County, Mr. Steger was the son of the late Delmah Daniel and Jonnie Mac Jean Steger. Mr. Steger was a machine programmer and trainer for Frito Lay and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Steger enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Wanda Woods Steger of the Vanntown Community, two daughters Rhonda Steger (Jay) King of Helena, AL and Telisa Steger (Russell) Reed of Fayetteville, grandchildren Charles Matthew Edwards of Helena, AL, Jared Russell (Nicole) Reed of Murfreesboro, Candria Edwards (John) Dawkins of Calera,AL and Alanah Reed of Fayetteville, great-grandchild Lakelynn Grace Dawkins of Calera, AL, siblings Daniel (Juanice) Steger of Thornton, AR, Evelyn Zellner of Murfreesboro, Cheryl Steger of Antioch, TN, and several special nieces, nephews and in-laws.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by great-grandchild Avery Mae Dawkins and one sister Sandy Steger.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday December 19, 2015 from 11am-1pm at the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Higgins Funeral Home is assisting the family of Aubrey Steger.

    So sorry to hear about Mr. Aubrey. He was a very nice man, and always was so precise about his job, and was very knowledgeable. When I worked at Frito Lay, he was already very nice to me, and would always come when I called him for help. He will be missed by many. Rest in Heaven Aubrey. Sit down and take your rest.
