Funeral services for Arthur Glenn “Popa” Ross, age 94, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Prospect Baptist Church with Dr. Ronnie Gay officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4pm until 7pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home and from 10am until time of the service on Thursday at the church.
Mr. Ross was born on April 20, 1930, in Ringgold, GA, to the late Mark Steven and Jennie McBrian Ross. A proud veteran of the US Army, he was also a dedicated member of Prospect Baptist Church. Mr. Ross began his career at Western Union, where he traveled extensively to work on US Air Force Bases. He later joined GE, retiring as a Senior Wire Design Technician with the NASA Space Program. Mr. Ross passed away on October 25, 2024, at HH Lincoln Health in Fayetteville, TN.
Survivors include his daughter, Beatrice Spray of Fayetteville; son, Bruce Ross and wife Gretchen of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Angie (Richard) Goad of Suffolk, VA, Adrian (Ammon) Hennessee of Andrews AFB, Kristen (Cody) Burnside of Virginia Beach; great-grandchildren, Tyler Hennessee, Branden (Nichole) Goad, Courtney Hennessee (Nathan) Yorgason, Jocelyn Burnside, Carson Goad, Dylan Goad, Charlotte Burnside, Beckham Burnside, Annie Mae Burnside; great-great-grandchildren, Calvin David Yorgason, Chloe Nicole Yorgason, Brycen Goad, and Aaliyah; brother, Ernest Ross of Valley Head, AL; and many other extended family members. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Elsa Sabin Ross; brothers, Mark Phillip Ross and George Ross; and sisters, Mildred O’Donald, Frances Taylor, Shirley Clark, and Evelyn Sue Ross.

I have very few memories of growing up at Prospect that don’t include brother Art.He always made sure any celebration included food.He was a great friend and mentor.We will meet again some day at the feet of Jesus.
