Obituary

Funeral services for Anita Kelley Bassham, age 78 of Fayetteville, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Columbia beside her husband Donald Bassham who passed away in 1991. Mrs. Bassham passed away Monday morning at her residence.

She was a native of Columbia, TN, and the daughter of the late Ernest McKennon and Bessie Tennessee Ralston Kelley. Mrs. Bassham was a former inspector for Scovill Manufacturing and a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.

Survivors include her children Donald M. Bassham Jr of Waverly, TN, Patricia “Patti” Schumacher and husband Keith of Fayetteville, Carla Marie Kimbrough and husband Jimmy of Fayetteville, Steven Kelley Bassham and wife Retha of Huntsville, AL, Claude Brett Bassham and wife Trina of Fayetteville, Kimberly Dawn Hollis and husband Rick of Fayetteville, 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening 5-8 p.m. At Higgins Funeral Home.

    It saddens me to hear of Anita’s passing. I loved her dearly as most people who knew her did. We lost mom last week also so I know how you are all feeling and you have my deepest sympathy. Guess mom (Bernice Edwards) and Anita are having a reunion in heaven together. Again my deepest sympathies….

    We worked with this dear lady for many years, she was such a fine person, we remained friends with her throughout the years.

    We will miss her so very much as all of you will, she was a lovely person. We all have the precious memories of knowing her and our prayers are with you as you go through this difficult time.
