Graveside service for Mr. Alvin C. “Al” Meyer, age 100, will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Stewart Cemetery.
Alvin C. Meyer was born July 7, 1920 of Flintville, TN passed away peacefully at his home on March 4, 2021. Al was a true lover of golf, the beach, traveling, and cheeseburgers. Not deterred by the Depression, WW II, or any obstacles before him, one of his favorite lines was “Better Days are Coming”. When asked how he managed to survive so long and maintain his natural hair color, he would reply, “clean living”, followed by a shot of vodka. He will be greatly missed though I know he will be happy to join his wife, Mary, his loving sister, Irma, brothers, Dick and Larry, and the countless friends and relatives he out lived. His 100th birthday was spent at E&D’s, where a packed bar along with the band sang to him. He turned in shock and said “ Is this for me?”. I replied, “Yes Uncle Al, this is for you, Better Days are Coming!”
There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
