Funeral services for Mr. Albert West, age 80, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 11AM Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Langford officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirkland Cemetery. Mr. West passed away Monday March 16th in Lincoln Medical Center. He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Albert West Sr and Willie Mae Lyons Merrill. He was retired barber and farmer, a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his daughter Shannon West Blackwood and husband Tim of Fayetteville, grandchildren Emma Grace Blackwood, Carson Claire Blackwood and Kaitlin Sierra Blackwood all of Fayetteville, sisters Dorothy McBay, Elizabeth Jones and Carrie Askins and brother Autie West and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by step-father Harvey Merrill, son Myron Dale West, brothers, Joe and John West, Leonard West and Cecil West and sister Louise Parker. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
