A funeral service for Tracy Denise Rutledge, age 48, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. Jeremy Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM on Saturday at Higgins.

Tracy was born on June 10, 1977, in Madison County, AL, to Patricia Counts Thompson and the late Frederick Dale Thompson. She was a proud 1996 graduate of Lincoln County High School and later earned her bachelor’s degree from Athens State University. For over two decades, Tracy dedicated herself to her work as an accounting manager at KBR in Huntsville, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

A devoted member of Kirkland Baptist Church, Tracy loved her church family dearly. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as fishing, shopping, and spending time with those she loved. Her vibrant personality, warm heart, and generous spirit touched all who knew her. Tracy had a way of making everyone feel seen and cared for, always putting the needs of others before her own. Despite the challenges she faced, Tracy showed unwavering strength and grace throughout her illness. She passed away on June 18, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 23 years, William Rutledge; her beloved sons, Carson Rutledge and Blake Rutledge; her mother, Patricia Thompson; her brothers, Steve (Ashley) Thompson and Chris (Katie) Thompson; her in-laws, Joe and Wanda Rutledge; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Words cannot express how much Tracy is missed. Tracy was my boss for the last 4 years and in my entire career she was the best ever! Tracy was the sweetest and strongest person I know. Always putting others before herself with her kind heart. I have learned so much from her professionally and personally that I will always take with me. She will never be forgotten and will always be in my heart. To her family, I send my deepest condolences. I personally know the feeling of losing someone who means the world to you. Though we all will miss her every day, take comfort in knowing she is with our Lord with his arms around her. Your family are all in my prayers each day! God bless you!

I have many memories of Tracy. Every visit with her was pure delight. From meeting her at The Snooty Fox to seeing her at the baseball field and other places around our hometown and even CCI this past year, we just clicked. She was so easy to love and I did love her. I’m so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, and friend. I will never forget her and her gentle nature.

Patricia I know it doesn’t feel real until you go to call her or say I’m going by to check on her to see how her day is going. And even then it still won’t feel right. Just know that we are your friends and we love all of you. And it goes without saying that we will be there for you any time. I didn’t know her family well but we will keep praying for all of you. We ole Friday Night Ladies will be there just like y’all were there for me when I just needed a shoulder to lean on. It will take you a while and sometimes you just want time to your self. So keep your head helt high and that we are just a phone call away for you my friend. At least I got to meet her that day y’all were at the hospital and I got me a hug. I think that was a good day for her. Love y’all.
