Obituary

Funeral service for Ruby Pearl Evans, age 84, of Taft, TN, will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lois Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM until the time of service on Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Pearl Evans, a native of Moore County, TN, was born on March 23, 1941, to the late Roy William Evans and Ona Ozell Copeland Evans. She was a graduate of Moore County High School, and a dedicated, lifelong member of the Washington Street Church of Christ. Pearl devoted four decades of her professional life as a very hard worker at Genesco in Fayetteville. In her personal time, she found great joy in tending to her beautiful flower gardens. Pearl passed away on October 5, 2025, at Bailey Manor in Fayetteville.

Survivors include her sisters, Marie (Jimmy) Mullins of Taft, and Dimple Clack of Shreveport, LA; nieces and nephews, Myla (DeWayne) Bryant, Heath (Tammy) Mullins, Susan (Mark) Greathouse, and Steve (Donna) Smith; and numerous great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her sisters, Jo Evans Kirby, and Pauline Evans Smith; and a nephew, Bobby Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Washington Street Church of Christ, PO Box 324, Fayetteville, TN 37334.
