It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Bradley Haynie, age 72, of Fayetteville, TN. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his life on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
Born on February 10, 1953, in Fayetteville, Bradley was the son of the late Robert Hilton and Lorraine Thornton Haynie. A proud lifelong resident of the Mimosa community, Bradley spent much of his life working with his hands, whether as a heavy equipment operator or a talented carpenter known for his precision in trim work. He had a rare gift for fixing just about anything, always with care and craftsmanship. As those who knew him often said, “They threw away the mold when he was born.”
Bradley found joy in the simple pleasures of life: time on the farm with his dogs and cows, watching Gunsmoke and other classic Westerns, or sharing laughter and stories with friends at the pool room. A devoted Tennessee Vols fan, he rarely missed a football game. But above all, he cherished his family. He passed away on May 28, 2025, surrounded by those he loved most. His legacy of love, strength, and integrity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Bradley is survived by his wife of 20 years, Melissa Wiggins Haynie; his daughters, Summer Bye and Savannah (Robby) Shepard; grandchildren, Colin, Aubrey, and Charlotte; his sister, Vivian Marcum; as well as several nieces, nephews, and a large circle of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Donnie Marcum.
Memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics Tennessee, 5115 Maryland Way, Brentwood, TN 37027.
Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Robert Bradley Haynie.
