Obituary

Richard Lee Buntley, 80, passed away peacefully with his wife, Marie, by his side on Saturday, November 15 at Serenity Hospice Care in Huntsville, Alabama. Richard was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee, on February 16, 1945.

First and foremost, Richard was a loving, wonderful husband. He had a 30 year long career at Chrysler, where he retired in 2001 and focused on his many talents and hobbies. These included traveling in the motorhome, singing and playing bluegrass music on the guitar, and dancing. He also enjoyed deer hunting with his brothers-in-law.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Buntley; sister, Doris Lynn Buntley; nephew, Mike (Clara) Buntley; great-nephew, Kagen (Anne) Buntley; great-nieces, Lauren Buntley and Kaitlyn York (Charlie Pack) and great-great-niece Addi Kate Pack. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Martha Elise Buntley.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, November 18 from 11-1pm at Higgins Funeral Home with the service immediately following. Richard will be laid to rest at Stewart Cemetery in Bugger Hollow.

    We are sorry to hear that Richard passed, we use to see him and Marie at the Pickin Parlor in Belvidere, TN. My husband would talk to him every chance he got. He was a good guitar player and singer. Enjoy their music. A good man.
