Obituary

Graveside services for Kathy Diane Russell Saylor will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation with the family prior to the service.

Kathy was born on June 2, 1957, in Fayetteville, TN, to the late Raymond E. and Dean Lanier Russell. She worked for many years as a cost analyst for the U.S. government, where she was known for her dedication and attention to detail.

Kathy dearly loved her family and was especially devoted to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Outspoken and independent, she lived life on her own terms and never hesitated to speak her mind. She loved her Bible, found comfort in her faith, and cherished her cats. Kathy passed away at her home on February 6, 2026.

She is survived by her sons, Brian Shelton and Stephen (Madrianna) Saylor of Hazel Green, AL, and Bradley (Abby) Saylor of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Erin Shelton, Bailey Shelton, Lily Shelton, Russell Saylor, and Angelique Saylor; sisters, Vickie (Randy) Porter and Lisa (Gerald) Todd; and brother, Michael (Amy) Russell.

Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Kathy Diane Russell Saylor.

To Kathy’s family and friends. I had just seen her about three weeks ago and she was just getting out of the hospital with her heart. This was a shock finding out she had passed away. May God bless you and help you all out in the days ahead.
