Obituary

Graveside service for Joe Douglas Gray, age 91, of Fayetteville, TN will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Bro. Richard McWilliams officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10 AM until 11 AM on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Joe was born on May 10, 1934, in Lincoln Co., TN to the late Clarence E. Gray and Irene Hopkins Gray. He served in the US Army and worked as an electronic technician with General Electric. Mr. Gray was a member of the Wells Hill Church of Christ. He passed away on May 31, 2025, at Elk River Health and Rehab in Fayetteville.

Survivors include his daughters, Sonya Crabtree and Bridget (John) Cash; grandchildren, Lauren Crabtree (Eddie) McDaniel, Lindsey Crabtree Morgan, Cara Crabtree (Jeffrey) Groce, Heather Gray, Hannah Gray (Joseph) Faulkner, Holly Gray, Haley Cash, and Hayden Cash; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a sister, Mary Ellen Boyte. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley A. Flynt Gray; and his son, Michael Dwayne Gray.

Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Joe Douglas Gray.
