Obituary

Funeral service for Mr. James Levoy Warren age 86 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Kirk Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Warren passed away Saturday afternoon in Huntsville Hospital.

A native of Lincoln County. Mr. Warren was the son of the late James R. and Lena Brown Warren, was retired plant manger at Elk Yarn Mill where he was employed for 49 years, served in the Army in WWII, and was a very active member of the Lions Club from 1980 till 2007 holding many offices, and a member of the Kelso Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as elder and pianist. Mr. Warren was an accomplished musician and loved playing for the church as well as his friends.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Mattielou Johnson Warren of Fayetteville, nephew Willie Burton Rives of Fayetteville, Nieces Reba Norman of Fayetteville, and Joyce McBride of OK. Mr. Warren was preceded in death by brothers Oddie Warren, George Warren, and Willie T. Warren, sisters Ezella Warren and Gladys Rives.

Visitation with the family will be Monday from 5 – 8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial can be made the Fayetteville Lincoln County Humane Society.
