Obituary

A graveside service for Ida Florence Robinson West, age 95, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation with the family will follow from 4:00 PM at Washington Street Church of Christ.

Ida Florence was born on August 8, 1930, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late Melvin Lawrence Robinson and Ruth Campbell Robinson. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent many years as a seamstress with Serbin and Blue Ridge Shirt Plant, and later in the retail grocery business. Ida Florence also worked alongside her husband Wade in the Lincoln County Property Assessors Office.

She found great joy in tending to her flowers and garden and was known as an exceptional cook. Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren, and she delighted in becoming a “short-order cook” whenever they were near. Ida Florence was a devoted caregiver throughout her life and a faithful member of Washington Street Church of Christ.

She passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, at Adams Place in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

She is survived by her sons, James “Bubba” West (Nancy) and Larry D. West (Elsie Ann); grandchildren, Lara (Jim) Cotey, Elisabeth (J Mac) Dyal, Courtney West, and Matt (Laura) West; and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, F. Wade West; her daughter, Becky Lynn West; her son, Barry West; and her sister, Betty June Coble.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care shown to Mrs. West by the staff and caregivers at Adams Place.

Memorial donations may be made to Washington Street Church of Christ Scholarship Fund, PO Box 324, Fayetteville, TN 37334; St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1900 Huntsville Highway, Fayetteville, TN 37334; or Lebanon Cemetery, c/o Debbie Motlow, 27 Good Lane, Taft, TN 38488.

Bubba and Larry, not ten minutes ago that I was thinking that you, Nancy, Gerald and Joanne Coggin had not visited me as promised months ago. I then thought I should call Ida Florence even though she had not answered the last two times I called. My bad, as I haven’t stayed in touch as I should. This was right before I did my last Facebook check for the evening and I see her obituary.

Ida Florence was absolutely one of the hardest working women that i have ever known. In my opinion, there was nothing domestic that she couldn’t do…excellent cook her yeast rolls the best..excellent seamstress, made Becky beautiful dresses. Then of course her love and commitment to take care of Barry even into her advanced years’…a true woman of strength!

Please know that I loved her and enjoyed many fond memories with the Wade West family, especially with my cousins. Wish I could be there, but please know that I hold you all dear in my heart ♥️.
