Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Reed, age 88, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Wrights Cemetery beside her husband Kenneth C. Reed. Mrs. Reed passed away Thursday afternoon at Donalson Care Center.

A daughter of the late Floyd and Julia Bassham Howard, she was a native of Giles County, formerly employed as a nurse, and was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a step-daughter Adele Locker and husband Jerry of Fayetteville, step-son Rayburn Carl Reed and wife Dean of Howell Hill, step-daughter-in-law Martha Reed of Huntsville, brothers Avery Howard of Minor Hill, TN and Joe Howard of Decator, AL, sister Mary Dollar of New Market, AL, 7 step-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a step-son Richard Reed, brother Jim Howard, and sister Rena McCree.

Visitation with the family will be from 12-2 PM Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home.
