Obituary

Funeral services for David Clifford Myrick, age 68, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Derrick Moose officiating. Burial will follow at Stewart Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home.

David was born on October 1, 1957, in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. He was a lifelong learner with a curious mind and a love for tinkering with old cars. He spent many joyful hours working toward his pilot’s license and taking to the sky, and he never considered summer truly underway until he made his yearly trip to the beach. He enjoyed camping and the simple peace of being outdoors.

Each morning began with a cup of coffee on the deck and time spent in his Bible; quiet moments that grounded him. David was humble, steady, and full of love for his family, especially his girls and his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.

He is survived by his children, Maegan Myrick Lynch, Lauren (Paige) Myrick Amoss and husband Joe, Guy West and wife Michele, T.J. West; grandchildren, Latham, Josie, Josiah, Gage, and Sybella Amoss, Aaliyah Blake, and others he loved as his own; sisters, Dawn (Craig) Stopinski, Dale (Charles) Davis, and Susan Beck; as well as many extended family members who cherished him.

David was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Geneva Myrick; brother, Stephen Orr; brother-in-law, Scott Beck; and niece, Laura Grace Beck.

Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of David Clifford Myrick.

David was always so kind. I saw him years ago in the drug store in Fayetteville. He remembered me and truly seemed to care about the direction my life had taken.
