Graveside funeral service for Craig Alan Gilliam, age 52, of Fayetteville, TN will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Rose Hill Cemetery with Doug Watt officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 4 PM until 7 PM on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home.
Craig was born in Fayetteville on September 27, 1969. He was a stranger to none and a friend to all he met. Mr. Gilliam was a 1987 graduate of Lincoln County High School and joked that he was a graduate at the University of Life School of Hard Knocks. Craig loved anything to do with racing or cars, fishing, BBQ, the Florida Gators, and a former member of the Fayetteville Lions Club. He could fix anything you needed fixed, and he would do it with a smile. Craig passed away on January 24, 2022, at Huntsville Hospital.
Craig left this earth too early, leaving many who loved him. Survivors include his mother, Patsy Gilliam; uncle, Miles (Donna) Phillips; girlfriend, Michelle Hanes; and her children, Brooke (Naoki) Nakajima, Brittany (Tyler Gurley) Walls, Brandon Walls, and Bridgette Walls; grandson, Damian Gurley; cousins, Sissy Atchley; Chris (Shelby) Phillips, Catrina (Michael) Mann Jason (Regan) Carlton, and an adopted brother, Ashton Hahn. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Nix Gilliam, Jr.; grandparents Lenard and Geneva Phillips; and aunt, Linda Phillips.
Memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Lions Club, P.O. Box 217, Fayetteville, TN 37334 or to Operation BBQ Relief, P.O. Box 414378, Kansas City, MO 64141.

Biggest condolonces to everyone who knew Craig.
Our deepest sympathies to Craigs family and friends. We have so many fond memories of Craigo and he will be so missed when we visit Tennessee in the future. I would also wish to pass on the thoughts of Craigs extended family in the UK who equally struggle to come to terms with this. This guy certainly had an impact on us all and one we are all grateful for.
My heart hurts to say goodbye to such a good man. Craig was special to me because his mother Patsy is special to me. I hate that covid is keeping me from being with tje family at this time. I love all my Tennessee cousins and am praying for our family and Craig’s special friends.
I worked with Craig several years when he worked at the wastewater plant, he was a good worker and a very good friend. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. My heart and prayers go out to his family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Patsy. We know your faith is strong – lean on it now.
Hate being out of town right now.
My heart is broken for you all. Craig was a one of a kind friend. His loss will be felt for a long time. Prayers to you all.
My sincere sympathy to Patsy, Miles, Michelle, and family at the untimely death of Craig. He was a fellow who tried to make everyone around him smile. May you all find comfort from your faith now and in the days to come.
We were in the Lions Club together when I first joined the summer of 2012 and he was always glad to help out with the football jamboree and as a tail twister too.
I thought a lot of him as a friend!

You will certainly be missed by many!
I grew up with Craig as kind of a big brother when I lived on Swann Ave. We were almost always together and he sure did touch my life. Everybody please take good care of Miss Patsy!
May eternal rest be granted to Craig and let perpetual light shine upon him. May your soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, thru the mercy of God. Rest In Peace. Until we meet again classmate
