Memorial services for Clayton (Hoot) Gibson, age 80, of Fayetteville will be conducted Saturday at 6PM at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Ward officiating. Mr. Gibson passed away Tuesday morning at Lincoln Medical Center.
He was a native of Scotland County, NC and the son of the late Murray Peter and Grace Butler Gibson. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Korea, was formerly electronic salesman, owner of Electro-wise and Rent-Eze Rentals. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, serving in various capacities.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Gayle Gibson of Fayetteville, two daughters Dawn Hughes and husband Frank of Fayetteville and Kaye Auditore of Franklin, grandchildren Lindsay Hughes, Turner Hughes and wife Melanie, Christopher Auditore, Danielle Auditore O’Hara and husband Patrick Franklin Hughes and one great-grandson Bowen Ryder Hughes, two sisters Catherine Smith of Laurel Hill, NC and Maxine Edwards of Myrtle Beach, SC and one brother Dr. Peter Gibson of Huntsville, Alabama. Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by a sister Annie Brown.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening 4-6PM at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.
