Funeral services for Mr. Carl Leon Barnett, age 82, of Huntland will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Phillips officiating.  Burial will follow in Campbell Cemetery.  Mr. Barnett passed away Tuesday evening at Huntsville Hospital.

A son of the late Richard F. and Fannie Lee Barnett, he was a native of Gurley, AL, retired from Goodman after 23 years of service in the paint department, a veteran of the Army and Navy having served in WWII and Korea, and a member of Union Grove Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn Young Barnett of Huntland, daughter Elaine Phillips and husband Keith of Fayetteville, son David Barnett and wife Edna of Mt. Home, ID, daughter-in-law Lynette Barnett of Flintville, step-daughter Blanette Teal and husband Rickie of Fayetteville, step-son Joe Gifford and wife Gayle of Belvedere, grandchildren LaTonya King and husband Brian of Gurley, AL, Stephanie Atchley of Fayetteville, Leah Barnett of Flintville, Chad Barnett of Fayetteville, Chris Barnett and wife Ashley of Mt. Home, ID, Zackery Barnett of Mt. Home, ID, and Michael Barnett of Mt. Home, ID, great-grandchildren Piper Jo, Brinley, and Ethan, and special nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Lois Barnett, son Frankie Barnett, sister Muyrle Lee Cagle, and brothers Ballard, Raymond, and Andrew Barnett.

Visitation with the family will be from 4-8 PM Friday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
