Benny Wilson Groce was born September 11, 1934, to Mr. Will and Mrs. Gladys Groce. He was raised by them in Belleville with his siblings, Evelyn, Billy, Betty Jo, and Jerry. He met his wife Rebecca “Becky” Jackson, and they became high school sweethearts, went on to marry, and began a wonderful, hard-working life together.
Benny is survived by his children, Nancy Rogers, Bryan (Suzi) Groce, and Jennifer (Pat) Turpen; He is also survived by his brother, Jerry; grandchildren, Lindsey (Stacy) Smith, Ben (Mallory) Pitts, Rebecca Turpen, Adam Groce, and Jeremy (Dina) Groce. He has several great-grandchildren he was blessed to spend time with.
Mr. Groce spent his entire adult life supporting the cattle industry in Lincoln County through his business, Farmers Auction. He was known for his integrity and honesty in his business dealings. He was generous in both his business and personal life.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13, at 11 AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Wiser officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, June 12, at Higgins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

I never met Mr . Benny personally but I have the biggest blessing of caring for his great granddaughter Loxley. She dearly loved her Papa Groce!! She will forever treasure her memories of him. I am so sorry for the loss of Benny Groce to his family. Ernie always treasured his friendship and the many times Mr Benny advised him on what cattle to buy.
