Funeral service for Barbara Bryant Clements, age 83, of Petersburg, TN, will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home, with Rick Lamon officiating. Burial will follow in Pigg Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Barbara was born on January 7, 1942, in Alexander City, AL, to the late Grover Frederick Bryant, Jr., and Linnie Mozelle Forlous Bryant. She was artistic and creative, finding joy in painting and expressing herself through her artwork. Barbara was also a wonderful cook, who enjoyed canning, and loved preparing meals for family gatherings. She had a special love for animals and a lifelong passion for Christmas, decorating nearly every room in her home each holiday season. Above all, Barbara treasured her family and the time she spent with them. Her warmth, humor, and loving spirit will be deeply missed. Barbara passed away on October 31, 2025, at Elk River Health and Nursing Center of Fayetteville.

She is survived by her children, Scarlet (Jed) Watson, Sheila Kerley, Glen (Sally Ann) Clements, Terri (Rick) Lamon, Vicki (Paul) McMillian, and Kim (Chris) Davis; grandchildren, Derick (Megan) Lamon, James (Lori) Lamon, Rachel (Clint) Key, Bethany Lamon, Samuel Lamon, Savanna (Mario) Davis, and Joel Davis; as well as 5 great grandchildren and one on the way.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Derril Clements; sisters, Betty Brown and Martha Bridgeman; and brother, Grover F. “Freddie” Bryant, III.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fayetteville Animal Shelter, 1718 Pulaski Hwy., Fayetteville, TN 37334, or Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.

I’ve known the family since 1975 we used to call Barbara and my mom “Lucy and Ethel”
Barbara was a good friend and almost my mother-in-law.
