Funeral services for Mrs. Avis George Sawyers, age 95, of the Howell Community will be conducted at 11am Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Don Hudson and Bro. Wayne Porter officiating.  Burial will follow in the Unity Cemetery beside her husband Robert Leo Sawyers who passed away in 1987.  Mrs. Sawyers passed away Friday morning in Donalson Care Center.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Newman and Lula Belle Woods George.  Mrs. Sawyers was a former inspector for Butte Knitt, was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a son Robert Ray Sawyers and wife Suzanne of the Howell Community, granddaughter Tonya Helums and husband Justin and children Kyle and Kaitlyn of Taft, grandson Robert Sawyers and Brenda and children, Jeremy, Courtney Jackson and Harmony and Khloe of the Howell community, brother Russell George of Fayetteville and special caregivers Brad Smith, Kelsey Shutt, Terri Taylor and Donna Giovinazzo.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers Lewis and Jesse George and a sister Eunice Daniel.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday night 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
