Obituary

Funeral services for James Cellon Cox, age 77 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Friday at 11 am at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Talley Cemetery. Mr. Cox passed away Tuesday night in Lincoln Care Center.

He was a native of Rogersville, AL and the son of the late Johnny and Dora Etta Thigpen Cox. Mr. Cox was a mechanic, former owner/operator of Cox VW Repair and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters Linda Green and husband Steven of Glenwood, IA, Barbara Wolf and husband Michael of Fayetteville, son Michael Cox of Lewisburg, step-children Amy Burton of Fayetteville, Don Blackwell of Fayetteville, Steve Blackwell and wife Christy of Fayetteville and Jeff Blackwell of Fayetteville, several grandchildren and step-grandchildren, several great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and his ex-wife and best friend Lynda Mary Cox of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by a son James Dearlion Cox.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Thursday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.

    So sorry for your loss, he have gone on to live with Jesus but will always be alive in your heart. May he rest in peace and you find comfort in knowing that he walks in the gardens of Heaven while waiting for his family to join him someday.
